Avec l’enregistrement sur disque vinyle d’une comédie musicale, Louise Siffert propose un nouveau chapitre de son projet sur la fermentation en tant que théorie vivante et palpable qui mêle corps, féminisme, et collectivité.

Gut Feelings est une comédie musicale chantée et jouée par des bactéries géantes. En référence aux communautés lesbiennes séparatistes et plus particulièrement à leur capacité à créer d’autres formes et modes de vie, à l’extérieur des normes invivables. Le motif de la fermentation devient ici une métaphore de l’activité d’une communauté micro-organique et non-genrée, à la fois humaine et non-humaine, vivante, qui bouge et change de forme. A la manière de la fermentation, cette communauté en constante activité évolue de manière autonome en s’auto-alimentant et en alimentant l’espace autour d’elle.

Ce vinyle édité par *Duuu a été produit dans le cadre de « La vie bonne », projet porté par Aware et le Cnap - Centre national des arts plastiques, avec la complicité du centre d’art BBB, Toulouse.

With the vinyl recording of a musical, Louise Siffert offers a new chapter in her project on fermentation as a living, palpable theory that blends body, feminism, and community.

Gut Feelings is a musical sung and performed by giant bacteria. Referring to the separatist lesbian communities and more specifically to their capacity to create other forms and ways of life, outside of the unliveable norms. The motif of fermentation here becomes a metaphor for the activity of a micro-organic and non-genetic community, both human and non-human, alive, moving and changing form. In the manner of fermentation, this community in constant activity evolves autonomously, feeding itself and the space around it.

This vinyl edited by *Duuu was produced within the framework of "La vie bonne", a project carried out by Aware and the Cnap - Centre national des arts plastiques, with the complicity of the BBB art center, Toulouse.

Louise Siffert se forme à la scénographie avant d’intégrer l’École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux arts à Paris. Elle est membre de DOC !, espace artistique autogéré à Paris. Monde du travail et aliénation, recherche du bien-être, place des habitudes : les performances de Louise Siffert interrogent et mettent en relation ces thématiques actuelles dans une mise en scène théâtrale et burlesque. Ancrant son travail dans des réflexions scientifiques et sociologiques (théories queer, études du genre, études décoloniales...) Louise Siffert crée des personnages aux caractères exacerbés, surexploitant les codes de langage et de comportement qui leur sont attribués. Son travail a été montré au MO.CO Panacée à Montpellier, la Synagogue de Delme, aux Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers, à L’Atelier de Paris - Carolyn Carlson, au Palais de Tokyo et dans le cadre d’une exposition solo au BBB centre d’art.

Louise Siffert

Louise Siffert trained as a set designer before entering the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris. She is a member of DOC!, a self-managed artistic space in Paris. The world of work and alienation, the search for well-being, the place of habits: Louise Siffert's performances question and relate these current themes in a theatrical and burlesque staging. Anchoring her work in scientific and sociological reflections (queer theories, gender studies, decolonial studies...) Louise Siffert creates characters with exacerbated personalities, overexploiting the codes of language and behavior that are attributed to them. Her work has been shown at the MO.CO Panacée in Montpellier, the Synagogue de Delme, the Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers, L'Atelier de Paris - Carolyn Carlson, the Palais de Tokyo and in a solo show at the BBB art center.
